What is Integrative Psychotherapy?
Integrate /ˈin(t)əˌɡrāt/: to bring together or incorporate (parts) into a whole.
There are three ways we use integration as an important principle in this work:
1) Your mind and body are two seemingly separate parts that work together to create your life experience. We use practices to merge mind and body so you can access the resource of calm that lives in you.
2) Our goal is to help you bring together all the parts of yourself into a more integrated whole. You may have parts you like and other parts you wish would go away. Our goal is to help create more harmony with all your parts so you can feel more connected, whole, and at ease. We work together to get to know these parts rather than make them go away or “fix” them. We check in to see what these parts need and learn to apply the tools that best work for you.
3) We use a blend of traditional talk therapy with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), and Somatic practices like Mindfulness meditation and Yoga Therapy. Together, we create an integrated therapy more impactful in its sum than its parts
